A school with 1405 Children grade 1 – 13 from poor families and 70 teachers use the new facilities. And especially the more than 5.000 school children from the central province are coming to this school to do the sports activities every year they also use the new facilities,
School is situated in a tea estate and (school buildings build up on five different land levels) far from the Pussallawa village area in Central Province and families who are living here are very poor, and most of the parents of the children working on tea states as daily labors. They have pipeline connected with community pipeline system, in dry season they get water two times per month this is not enough at all. In dry season some months no water at all, no drinking water and no water for cleaning toilets and specially female students and teachers facing many difficulties without water for their sanitary purpose, and also no water for teachers houses in school premises, every year in dry season they are struggling for water more than 6-7 months and some days they have to walk about 300 meters to bring water to the cannel.
Realized, improved water and sanitation facilities:
Construct one low concrete stand, Supply 10.000L water stock tank, reconstructed existing concrete water towers 10 feet high to keep their existing water tanks, Supply total pipeline system to school premises and existing school buildings and existing toilets and teachers houses in school, construct 6 units of sinks (1 unit has 4 taps), 10 tap posts.
Parents and teachers helped carry materials to construction sites, digging for the pipe line and laying and painting.
