A rural and poor school with 60 children, grade 1 – 5 from low income families and 7 teachers use the new facilities.
The school is situated in isolated area called Rathugala village and far from the Bibila city in Uva Province. In dry season the school well get dry and no water for drinking and even for cleaning purposes. This school children and teachers facing lot of difficulties without water, at least 6 months, this is a terrible situation.Majority of the Parents working in chena cultivation farms for their family income and some others do daily labor, these villages are very poor.
Realized, improved water and sanitation facilities:
Reconstruct an existing open well and made more deeper, construct a pump house and electrical panel board, supply a new electrical cable, supply 500L water tank, reconstruct a toilet roof with concrete to keep the water tank on toilet roof, total pipeline system for the school premises 180 meters long and connect the water connection for the existing 2 latrine, construct 2 tap posts, paint all our constructions, Etc…
Parents and school teachers help: transport materials from the gate to construction sites, digging and fixing for the pipe line.
