A rural and isolated poor primary school with 22 Children grade 1 – 05 from low income families and 8 teachers with one family stay in school teachers’ house, use the new facilities.
School is situated in away from the Haldummulla city area in Uva Province and Waeliya villagers who are living here have very low income per month, and most of the parents of the children working as daily labors in spice gardens. This village situated in high mountain areas, they have existing well but in dry season it totally get dry therefore they have no drinking water and no water for cleaning toilets, every year in dry season they are struggling for water more than 6-7 months and some days they have to walk for water near 1 kilometer. These small children and teachers facing many difficulties for cleaning purpose.
Realized, improved water and sanitation facilities:
Reconstruct open dug well (make 7 feet deeper), Cleaning the well, make well cover using GI pipes with steel sheet, construct pump house, supply electricity cable with electrical panel board, construct low concrete water stand to keep their existing water tanks, supply total pipeline system from stock tank to school premises and existing school buildings and existing toilets, construct 1 unit of sink (1 unit has 4 taps), 2 tap posts.
Parents and teachers helped to carry materials to construction site, digging for the pipe line and laying and painting.
