A school with 320 children, grade 1 – 5 from low income families and 22 teachers use the new facilities.
The school is situated in poor village in rural area and far from the Bandarawela city. In dry season they get water once per week and for the other days they don’t have water for drinking and even for cleaning purposes. This school is struggling for water every year, this is a terrible situation.
Majority of the parents working in tea states for their family income and some others do daily labor, these villages are very poor.
Realized, improved water and sanitation facilities:
Construct low concrete water tower with handrail in highest place in school land, supply 5000L and 2000L plastic water stock tank, total pipeline system for the school premises, construct new 4 washing units (1 unit has 4 taps), construct 3 tap posts, reconstruct 2 toilets, paint all our constructions, etc…
Parents and children help: transport materials from the gate to construction sites, digging and fixing for the pipe line.
