A poor and rural school with 780 Tamil Children grade 1 – 13 from low income families and 35 teachers use the new facilities.
School is situated in Bathgoda village, far away from the Beragala town area in Badulla District in Uva Province and villagers who are living here are coming from low income families, and some parents of the children working as daily labours in vegetable farms, tea estates, working as road cleaners and no any government servants, all the villagers are struggling to live their day today life. They have community pipeline but limited water supply for school (three times per month) in the dry season no water for drinking and for cleaning toilets, children always facing many difficulties without water, specially the female students and teachers. The school buildings situated in 5 land levels.
Realized, improved water and sanitation facilities:
Supply 5000L two water stock tanks and we used existing two water tanks to stock the water, construction of 4 low concrete water stands to keep the stock tanks with hand rail, make a new pipeline system from stock tank to school (420m long) and Supply total pipeline system to school and school premises and existing school buildings and existing toilets, construction of 6 hand washing units (one unit has 4 taps), 15 tap posts, painting all constructions.
Parents and teachers helped to carry materials from the gate to construction sites and for some labour works and painting.
