A poor and isolated rural school with 96 Children grade 1 – 5 from poor families and 12 teachers use the new facilities. School is situated in Obadaella village, far away from the Bandarawela town area Badulla District in Uva Province and villagers who are living here is very poor, and some parents of the children working as daily labours in vegetable farms and town area, and mothers of the children are working in tea estates. In the dry season no water for drinking and for cleaning toilets, every year in dry season they are struggling for water more than 6-7 months and they have to walk down from the school for water about 200m to bring water with buckets for their daily needs.
Realized, improved water and sanitation facilities:
Construction of deep tube well, supply electric water pump, making a pump house and electrical panel board with electrical cable, make a pipeline from deep tube well to school and Supply total pipeline system to school and school premises and existing school buildings and existing toilets (650m long), construct low concrete stand with hand rail and supply water tank, reconstruct the existing concrete water tower, construction of 3 hand washing units (one unit has 4 taps) and re constructed the 2 existing hand washing units, constructed 3 tap posts, painting all constructions. Parents, teachers helped to bring materials to construction sites, digging for the pipe line and painting.
