Rural school with 330 children grade 1-11 from poor families and 20 teachers make use of the new facilities.
At the end of 2016 we visited this school in the mountains for the 1st time. Many children have to walk 2 hours to get to school. Along the main road is a small community water pipe, here the school is connected. In the dry season there will be no water for a 5 months and the toilets cannot be cleaned. Illnesses are lurking. Sad situation, especially for the girls.
Realized, improved water and sanitation facilities:
We constructed a new well 32 feet deep and 6 feet wide at natural source, well cover, 500 m pipeline to the school, total pipeline system at school to buildings and sanitary facilities, water tower with 5,000 lt. tank, 3 concrete washing units (1 unit has 4 taps), 6 tap points, pump house, electrical panel board with electrical cables, prepared the water connection to staff quarters at school, painted all our constructions.
Parents and children help: transport materials from road to construction sites, digging and fixing for the pipeline.
