This large herd of elephants that had come out of the jungle in search of food and water were spotted at the Udawalawa Tank on Sunday August 4. They have come out of the forests during the day time (they almost never do this)

School is situated in very rural area and far from the city area in North Western province. There is no water at all in dry season, all wells get dry and no water for drinking and even for cleaning purposes. This school is struggling for water at least 6 months in the year.

School is situated on very far from the city area in Western Province. There is no water at all in the dry season, No drinking water and no water for cleaning toilets, even no water for whole village in dry season, they are struggling for water more than 6-7 months in a year. Majority of the parents do daily labor for their family income.
Het bestuur van Stichting Project koppeling Eindhoven Gedaref (SPEG) heeft besloten om SPEG op te heffen. SPEG heeft sinds haar oprichting op 3 maart 1989 vele projecten in de staat Gedaref in Sudan ondersteund. Deze projecten lagen altijd op het vlak van educatie, armoedebestrijding en sanitatie. Daarnaast is er in Nederland veel aandacht geweest voor voorlichting en bewustwording voor de situatie in Sudan. Met heel veel toewijding, voldoening en plezier heeft SPEG haar werk in de afgelopen 30 jaar gedaan.

We are still in the tea plantation, very poor families who earn a living by picking tea leaves for a low salary. This school is divided into 5 levels in terms of ground height, this makes the pipeline extra complicated/expensive.
The existing pipeline from the mountain source is more than 40 years old; a lot of leakage through broken and rusty pipes.
Daily the oldest schoolboys repair the pipes with old rubber bicycle tires, a never ending job.
