Dear Mr. Jan Van der Steen,

First of all let me wish you a Very Happy & Prosperous New Year 2008.

I take this opportunity to place on record our heartfelt gratitude and
sincere appreciation for the very meritorious assistance given to the
people of Adikarigama, Maaduragama & Neeraviya villages by constructing the
03 wells. The people are very happy and bless you for your kindness and
generosity.

As requested by you, we have advised the families at Adikarigama to
finalize the preliminary work of the Toilet project, which you wish to
commence in March this year. We are happy to inform you that the digging of
toilet pits, making the required clay bricks and collecting sand by those
who can are now in progress. They are very enthusiastic and look forward to
your arrival in Sri Lanka.

Regarding the request made by His Lordship the Bishop for a Well at
Matiyagana, we wish to state that there is a Vocational Training Centre for
youth at this place and the trainees are faced with great difficulties due
to lack of water for their use and for the use of the resident priest at
the Matiyagana Church. Therefore, we shall thank you to consider this
request too, favourably.
